The American Library Association’s Office for Information Technology Policy hosted a face-to-face question- and-answer session with John Noran, senior manager of the Schools and Libraries Division of the Universal Service Administrative Company on Sunday, June 24, 2012, at 2012 American Library Association (ALA) Annual Conference in Anaheim, Calif. The Universal Service Administrative Company (USAC) administers the E-rate program.
Noran met with individuals to answer E-rate questions for all states and local libraries. Each individual had the opportunity to speak with Noran for up to 30 minutes. I sat with Noran when he met with Kentucky E-rate consultant Katherine Adelberg. Adelberg spoke to Noran about bringing USAC representatives from Washington, D.C. to her school to discuss contract issues.
