The National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) released a new report on the Broadband Technology Opportunities Program (BTOP). The report gives an overview of the BTOP program and discusses the three BTOP award categories (infrastructure, public computing center, and sustainable broadband adoption) in more detail. The report recognizes the benefits of having included anchor institutions in the infrastructure awards and includes representative projects for each program category. Each example includes specific data highlighting the impact of these projects on communities across the country. The report concludes by emphasizing NTIA’s continued commitment to ensuring the success of the BTOP program and by extension, the success of each BTOP award recipient.
Part of NTIA’s effort to ensure success includes a number of support opportunities for award recipients. The latest outreach opportunity is a webinar BTOP Interconnection and Nondiscrimination to be held on Monday, December 20 at 2:00 EST. If interested, award recipients and those interested in the BTOP program may register here: https://www2.gotomeeting.com/register/946359042. Please note that pre-registration is required and NTIA recommends registering as soon as possible to secure a space.
