Library of Michigan, OITP to host Michigan Broadband Summit

The Library of Michigan and the American Library Association Office for Information Technology Policy (OITP) will host the Michigan Broadband Summit tomorrow at the Kellogg Center in East Lansing, Mich., to discuss the impact of broadband on economic development in communities and how libraries can serve as hub for broadband expansion.

Keynote Speaker John Windhausen Jr., of Telepoly Consulting in Washington, D.C., will address the group of librarians, government officials at all levels, business managers, and community leaders. Following Windhausen’s speech, a series of speakers and panel presentations will explore issues such as the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, successful collaborative projects, intensive applications used in libraries and E-Rate.
