Today, during debate on the FY 2009 Omnibus Appropriations bill, the Senate rejected an amendment by Senator John McCain (R-AZ) that would have negatively impacted libraries by keeping funding at FY 2008 levels through the end of this fiscal year on September 30.
The Senate will continue debate on the FY 2009 omnibus with a possible vote as early as Thursday.
