Seventy-six days until National Library Legislative Day!

There are only 76 days until National Library Legislative Day!  On May 11 and 12, 2009, come to Washington, D.C. and take part in a historical NLLD — with a new Administration and a new Congress, now is the time to make history in our nation’s capital.  Please visit our NLLD Web site to register or for more information.

In order to defray travel costs, ALA, in conjunction with the White House Conference on Library and Information Services (WHCLIST), is offering the WHCLIST award, which provides a stipend of $300 and a two free nights at the conference hotel to help defray the costs for a non-librarian participant to attend National Library Legislative Day (NLLD) May 11th and 12th in Washington, DC.  For more information, click here.

In addition to the WHCLIST award, ACRL has announced the availability of up to $250 each for 10 individuals to attend NLLD from May 11-12, 2009, in Washington, D.C.  Individuals applying for the travel grants must be an ACRL Legislative Advocate (application to be an advocate will be accepted simultaneously with travel grant application), be a first-time attendee at NLLD, and apply by March, 20, 2009. Grants will be awarded on a first come, first served basis. Complete details and application information is available on the ACRL Web site.
