USDA announces awards for 129 rural libraries

Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack today announced investments in 30 states that will create jobs by building and enhancing libraries in 129 rural communities across the nation. The projects are being funded through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (Recovery Act).

  1. Wow! This is a great thing, and something needed all over the US. I am wondering, however, how these projects were chosen. I am shocked to see no grants going to some of our more rural states, especially those serving indigenous populationssuch as: Alaska, Arizona, Idaho, Montana and New Mexico.
