Using the Media for Library Advocacy (video)

Using the Media for Library Advocacy from ALA Washington on Vimeo.

The media can be a powerful ally in promoting your library’s cause. In this video we look at options for finding media outlets, building relationships with reporters, identifying a hook for news stories and becoming the “go to source” on library-related issues. We also consider appropriate practices for the different media venues, including print, TV, Radio and the Internet and provide real world examples of each.

Jacob Roberts is the communications specialist for the ALA Washington Office.
