Veto Override Falls Two Votes Short in House of Representatives

On Thursday, November 15, the U.S. House of Representatives fell two votes short in its attempt to override President Bush’s veto of the FY 2008 Labor, Health and Human Services, Education and Related Agencies appropriations bill. The final vote was 277-141.

Congressional leaders have made no decisions on how to finish the remaining appropriations bills when lawmakers return in December from the Thanksgiving recess.
