In March, ALA was part of the nationally webcasted dialogue Sunshine Week 2007: Closed Doors; Open Democracies?, which addressed issues of access to government information, including the impact of government suppression and manipulation of scientific information on public health and safety – and accountability at the federal and the state and local levels.
A DVD of the dialogue is now available from the Special Libraries Association.
This new DVD features two panel discussions at the National Press Club on March 12, 2007. The panels focus on national, state and local issues such as how the right information needs to be available for emergency services. The DVD includes Rick Piltz who resigned from the U.S. Climate Change Science Program in protest of political manipulation.
