The Future of Technology and Libraries

In honor of the retirement of Dr. Fredrick (Rick) Weingarten, the Office for Information Technology Policy (OITP) hosted a miniature conference entitled ‘The Future of Technology and Libraries’ on May 16th and 17th. • Mike Godwin, of Yale University, covering public policy
  • David Isenberg, of www.isen.com, on the future of hardware
  • Yochai Benkler, of Yale Law School, discussing the ‘Successfully Network Librarian’
  • Beth Jefferson, of BiblioCommons, giving a presentation on her research into Interactive Web Applications
  • Michael Eisenberg, of Uthe University of Washington’s iSchool, on the future of library school education

Notes from the meeting have been posted by various participants, including Aaron the Librarian and Jenny Levine. Thanks to both for sharing their notes.
